This page lists other interfaces and web sites that display SkyView images and provide additional functionality

Aladin Interactive Sky Atlas logo The Aladin Interactive Sky Atlas

Aladin is an interactive software sky atlas created by the Centre de Données astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS). This Java application allows the user to visualize digitized images of any part of the sky, to superimpose entries from astronomical catalogs or personal, user data files, and to interactively access related data and information from the Simbad database and Vizier service for all known objects in the field. Information and downloads can be found at the CDS web site

Maki logo MAKI: The Astro-E/Multi-Mission Observation Visualizer

Maki is a tool designed to serve two purposes: investigating instrument Fields of View (FOV's), and viewing multi-mission observing windows.

While previous versions of Maki allowed users to overlay FOV's directly via Skyview, the current version does not support this functionality. Work is underway to fix this deficiency but it is not expected that this functionality will be incorporated before the Cycle 1 deadline of 2004 August 18. Furthermore, at this time, Maki has only been built and tested on Linux and Solaris. More information is available.

If you have software that uses SkyView and would like to have it listed here, please let us know.
